As a newcomer to the Mid-Ohio Valley, I frequently ask the question, “Where does the Mid-Ohio Valley begin and where does it end?” To my surprise, everyone I ask has a different answer!

Perhaps the broadest description of the area can be found on the West Virginia state government website which lists the following West Virginia counties as part of the Mid-Ohio Valley: Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt and Wood. Others describe the region in more narrow terms.

What I’ve come to learn is, there are no specific geographic boundaries to this breathtakingly beautiful region. With all the area has to offer, it’s no surprise that everyone wants to lay claim to it!

Whether you’re relocating to the Mid-Ohio Valley or simply visiting, we welcome you and hope your stay is just what you hope it will be!
